When I first stumbled upon creating, I was instantly at a crossroads with all the creative tools out there. Especially now with AI, there are so many tools we have at our disposal. At that point, it was not just about music or fashion—it was about how to even get an idea down that embraces creativity in any form. Today, I want to show you what I use in my creative processes to maybe give you a starting point.

What Plug-ins do I use for sound design?

Ultimately I use Serum for my sound design. While serum as a topic could be a year long conversation (which I will dive into later), I am just going to say intially that if you can understand the original serum, not serum2, then you can make any sound you want. In my opinion, serum2 is a lot, so I prefer the OG. On top of that, I just do a lot of eqing, OTT, and reverb for spacing.

What do I do for visuals?

I have recently started on my journey into the visual creative process, and I must emphasize that I am still very much a beginner in this realm. To say what everyone is thinking, I would in no way, shape, or form, call myself a professional at this stage. However, this experience has been incredibly rewarding and educational, allowing me to try different techniques and styles that connect my visual storytelling abilities. One of the key tools that I have found to be a huge help in this process is CapCut. This user-friendly application is an awesome starting point for anyone looking to dive into video editing without feeling overwhelmed by the more advanced software. While I acknowledge that After Effects is widely regarded as superior, I think that CapCut serves as a perfect launching pad for beginners. It offers a range of features that help grow the fundamentals of video editing, such as cutting, trimming, and adding transitions. Its a smoother learning curve, making it accessible for most. It has truly been a valuable asset in my creative journey, allowing me to explore the art of video editing in a manageable and enjoyable way.
